Club Survey

Audience - Members and Non-Members

Why is our Club conducting this survey?

The membership of Kingston Bagpuize with Southmoor Tennis Club (Club) has increased by 50% over the last 3 years and the needs and expectations of our members’ and in fact members of the public who want to participate in tennis but not join a club, will have change over that time. While some things have evolved at the Club for the positive, sometimes things are not for the better.

With plans to increase the number of tennis courts, our Club will be far more able to meet the expectations our members’ in the future and hopefully open up the Club at certain times to the public.

You may have ideas on how we can improve our tennis programme or make better use of the courts or suggestions how we can do things differently, in order to make our Club an even better club for our local community.

The responsibility for running the club is vested in Club’s Management Committee. For our Committee to be effective it needs to, in addition to dealing with the ‘day-to-day matters’, be focusing on providing those things that are important to you as a member.

Informal feedback to the Club’s Management Committee has been used to formulate a draft Strategic Development Plan (SDP), which will see the Club build two new courts and run a far more extensive range of activities and coaching programme over the next 5 years. A draft of our SDP is available on our Club website  Kingston Bagpuize with Southmoor Strategic Development Plan 2016-2023 refreshed May 2018

This survey is an opportunity for you to tell us what you expect from our Club and to share those ideas that you may have.

What do I need to do?

There are two questionnaires; one for juniors and another for the adults.

You have the option to either complete the survey on-line or members’ have the option to fill out one of the printed copies of the questionnaire that will be available in the Club House and drop it in the box provided.

If you are going to complete the survey online, use one of the following links:

How long have I got to complete the survey?

We would really appreciate it you could please complete the survey before Friday, 31st August.

What will the Club do with the information you provide?

We will collate and assess all the information that is shared with us. Then the Management Committee will ensure that our draft SDP does meet your expectations of the Club and make changes to the actions and initiatives that will need to be undertaken that we have already identified from the feedback we have received to date.

The final draft SDP will then be shared with you on-line for you to review and at an Extra Ordinary General Meeting in September, where we hope that you will sign it off and give the Management Committee the mandate to take the actions and initiatives forward.

The final SDP will be published on our website.

Why is our Strategic Development Plan so important to us?

The resources involved in delivering the SPD are considerable, both in terms of raising the funds to build new courts but also developing and delivering a new tennis programme.

We need to demonstrate to potential funders that we, as a Club, have plans in place that meet the aspirations of our members and we that we also encourage our community to play tennis and use our facilities, even if they are not members of the Club. We need to truly ‘Serve our Community’.

In the main, the Management Committee is made up of volunteers who offer some of their precious spare time to the running of our Club. We are very fortunate to have an Administrator that enjoys a small financial reward for taking away some of the day-to-day administration burden. Therefore, we need to make sure that we make the best use of our volunteers’ time and ensuring we focus on those things that are most important to you.

Thank you taking the time to provide your feedback.
